Objectives
Deploying a distinctive pedagogy, this 2-day programme first identifies the challenges in assessing the credibility of witnesses and introduces to participants a defensible and principled approach to undertake such assessments.
It will feature:
- Identifying traps and pitfalls, including heuristics and biases
- Science of deception and detecting deception
- Practice class on assessing the credibility of witnesses
- Suggested framework for assessing witness credibility
- Group work, discussion and presentation on case study
- Discussion with Senior Faculty on how judges find facts and analysis of case study
