Singapore Judicial College
Objectives
The number of litigants-in-person (LIPs) has been steadily rising in the Singapore courts. This phenomenon is not peculiar to Singapore and many jurisdictions are also encountering the same trend. It is here to stay and set to increase. Judges, therefore, need to be better equipped to manage LIPs, especially those who are challenging.
This 2-day programme features:
- Guest lectures by expert psychiatrists on managing LIPs with personality disorders
- Role play exercise on how to engage or disengage LIPs effectively
- Group work, class presentations and discussions on strategies based on case studies
- Analysis by Senior Faculty on strategies proposed and actual methods/techniques deployed in court
